About This Blog

Teaching English as a Second or Foreign Language is not an easy task to do. There are many factors contributing to such condition. However, among them the most important one is environment. As it is not used as the primary language in daily communication, students cannot interact with English outside the classroom. They only have an opportunity to get in touch with English when they are in the classroom. Consequently, most students fail to master this language.

Considering the problem, one way available to make students master English is by optimally making use of classroom meetings and activities. The process of English teaching and learning in the classroom must be made as effective and efficient as possible. In order to do that at least two requirements must be met. The first, teachers must have a good command in English. Their English skills as well as their linguistic knowledge must be prominent. The second, teachers must also be able to employ appropriate teaching strategies. With appropriate teaching strategies it is expected that every classroom meeting will make students enjoy learning and using English even when they are outside of classroom.

It is in order to find and share such effective and efficient English teaching and learning in the classroom that this blog is developed. The content of this blog will include theoretical and practical overviews, critical reviews, as well as personal experiences related to English teaching and learning. You are expected to be actively involved so that the goal of this blog namely to find and share effective and efficient English teaching and learning could be accomplished.
